Widgetarians got "Swag"

Today we sewed on buttons (hard to predict which kids would get into it and which kids wouldn’t) and that was fun. We did some animation programming. We learned about writing checks, investigated the pluses and minuses of applying for credit and took turns being the applicant or banker. We talked about being popular, and what having “swag” means with one of our Widgetarians putting on a demonstration. We decided that self-esteem comes from the inside and if you are confident and dress appropriately for your age, you have “swag.” Of course there was some minecrafting, wii baseball and kinect Wipeout. As one kid was heard to say, “Today was mostly cool, but I’m gonna have to find somebody who loves me to sew on my buttons, because I’m no good at that.”
